What to look for in a faux wreath

When it comes to choosing a faux spring wreath, quality is everything.

Stay away from overly shiny or plastic-looking materials because they can cheapen the look.

I like to look for a mix of textures, like soft blooms, leafy greenery, and even a touch of dried elements like wheat or lavender for added depth.

Choose wreaths with UV-resistant materials to ensure they won’t fade in the sun if your front door gets a lot of exposure.

And if you really want a wreath that will last for years, check out a good quality metal wreath! Some of my picks below are made from iron, and they look just as beautiful as faux florals.

What size wreath works best for your door?

The size of your wreath is crucial to achieving the right balance on your front door.

The biggest mistake most people make is getting a wreath that’s too small for their door, and then it looks disproportionate…especially from the street.

Here’s a quick wreath sizing guide:

  • Standard Doors (30–36 inches wide): Most single front doors are this size. A wreath with a diameter of 20–24 inches works beautifully.
  • Double Doors: If you have a double front door, go for two smaller wreaths, around 24-26 inches each, to create a balanced look.
  • Oversized Doors (48 inches or wider): If your front door is larger, you’ll need an even larger wreath that makes a statement. Opt for a wreath measuring 28–32 inches in diameter.

Hang your wreath so the center sits at eye level…usually at about 5.5 feet from the ground.
